A study on form Constancy Centered on Human Information Process
Kim Young-Geun

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze and classify form constancy factors enabling object recognition by human information process type and to propose the implication on cognitive rehabilitation to apply the principle of form constancy to patients with its difficulty. The criterion of classification on factors affecting form constancy is the human information process(conceptually-driven process vs datadriven process). The conceptually-driven process proceeds from the internal expectation, prior knowledge, familiarity, context, depth cues inducing observer¡¯s inference of the incoming data. The data-driven process is dependent on prototypes, canonical represents and invariant properties of the object. Occupational therapy needs to plan and practice intervention strategies to use remaining information process. This strategies are able to enable patients with form constancy impairment to adapt their daily livings. It is useful to develop a special assessment tool for object recognition or form constancy including their factors with the view of information process.
